Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Piggy
"Well-behaved women rarely make history" Emmeline Pankhurst
Born in April 2012, Tiger arrived at Little Oak in May 2012.
No one embodied the expression "Well-behaved women rarely make history" quite like Emmeline Pankhurst. Except perhaps Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Piggy.
From the moment of her arrival, Tiger made her presence known. As a tiny piglet, she would investigate everything and anything she possibly could, holding a special penchant for buttons, zippers, drawstrings and shoelaces.
Whilst she was bigger and stronger, and generally feistier, Tiger had a super soft spot for her younger 'brother' Little Timmy Piglet, and was as a staunch defender to him from the time they arrived. Any time he was upset she would rush to his defence.

Tiger is one strong-minded lady, full of personality, the joy of life and the wonder of her daily experiences - digging for roots in the soil, wallowing, swimming, sleeping in a soft bed of straw, and the company of friends from many species.
Tigers favourite activities include playing "hippopotopig" in the dam on a hot day, building nests, and dancing, should the mood strike her. She is the boss of her paddock and doesn't tolerate any dinner "sharing" shenanigans that Dr Seuss enjoys attempting.
Just as Emmeline was a trailblazer for the rights of women, Tiger is an advocate for her kind, and a strong example of how amazing the animals we rarely get to meet, really are.

Sponsor a Pig
Pigs are the flagship species for Little Oak – indeed it was a pig who inspired us to start the sanctuary and of all animals, they hold a very special significance to us. Pigs are amazing beings, they are smart, funny characters, sadly we rarely get to see them as the individuals they are. Today, over 5 million pigs are confined in sheds across the country each year. Their lives are short and filled with suffering - but it doesn't have to be this way.
When you sponsor a pig you will be helping protect pigs. Your sponsorship will support Little Oak's essential advocacy work – sharing the stories of individual pigs and the plight of their kind across the nation.
Sponsor today, and we'll take you on a journey to learn more about pigs through our regular updates - exclusive only to our monthly sponsors. We'll also keep you up to date on how your monthly gifts are helping to secure a brighter future for the pigs at Little Oak, and their kind across Australia.
